USN '73-'77. Boot at Orlando, "A" School in Millington, TN. "C" school for ASW equipment in Pax River, MD where chow hall won many awards for great chow. Dutry assignment was VP-49 (now de-commissioned) in Jax, FL. Started as ground pounder working on ASW gear on P3-C aircraft, moved to NEC 8256 In-Flight Tech as aircrew member. Loved the duty and would have stayed but wife at the time laid down the law: get out of the Navy or we're done. Should have stayed in. Deployed for 6 months at a time to Keflavik twice and Sigonella once. Overall, after I made E-5 it was cake duty.

Had orders for shore duty in Bermuda at the TSC but Momma said no way.

US ARMY 74-94. Would of stayed longer but could not deal with the politics or the then current administration.
7 years in combat arms 11C and the rest as a 95B Military Police.
Took a brief stint as a civilian and hated it. Went right back in and retired.

Four years in the US Navy, serving aboard the USS Boston as a Guided Missilleman from 1955 till 1959.
While aboard, served on the dive team assigned to inspect the ships' hull for magnetic mines while in port. Wherever we were.
I could tell you stories about the water conditions.
