Im getting a new Remington 700 SPS Stainless, and im wondering what you guys think about silver scopes on stainless rifles. Im fairly sure i'll be getting a Nikon Buckmaster 4.5-14x40. Any photo comparisons would be great.
I have a Ruger 10/22 with the silver action and a SS barrel, purchased complete from Wally World. I put a silver SIMMONS .22 Mag scope on it and couldn't be happier. Looks sharp and is very reliable ... and accurate. Personal prefference. I simply like the look.
I have 2 stainless rifles that wear matte black zeiss scopes. I also have a stainless rifle that wears an elite silver scope. They all look very good. Its all in what you like.
Of the SS rifles I've owned, I also enjoyed the look of a SS rifle with silver scope and black rings/bases in a black synthetic stock. Another SS rifle that would turn heads, was a Ruger MKII SS with their SS rings holding a Silver Elite 3200 scope and all held in a brown tone laminate stock. Both were good looking rifles to my eye and the difference being the type stock your SS rifle has, IMO. Simply a matter of what looks correct to your eye, of course.
My wife has 2 rifles in all stainless with matching Leupold scope. I on the other hand went with a flat black finish on my rifle scope, which was also a Leupold.
