Yeah I tend to invest a little more on scopes now, but all three of the Fullfield IIs I have are still in front line service and performing as well in the field as my Leupolds and Nikon Monarchs. I was however surprised they finished 2nd though.

I have a Bushnell Elite 3200 and a Full-Field II. I've never been a fan of Nikon scopes.

I'm surprised the guy doing the comparison failed to mention the potential for using the extra horizontal dots in the Diamondback for windage compensation, not just for range estimation. I mean, in this day and age, lots of folks have laser range-finders but those two single dots could definitely be useful in a mild to moderate wind. If my son doesn't like the FF II on his 308, I'll consider moving it to another rifle and buying a Vortex for him. His rifle is just for target shooting, so the extra mil-dots would be better than the hash marks in the Burris.

Good review!

Thanks for posting that, it's a worthwhile read, without a doubt. I must say I pretty much concur with the good words said about the Burris FFIIs, as the two I have are darn good scopes. I was also surprised about the poor rating(s) for the Prostaff. I have a couple of 2-7x32 SG models one on a 10/22, one on my M/L and one on an Encore in .35 Whelen. I've actually made two very low light harvests using these Prostaff scopes, so again, I'm surprised they rated quite so low. Apparently, though, the others are simply better. One last comment would be that for very low light performance my Elite 3200 with FireFly reticle works very well in very low light. Compared to a VXIII 2.5-8x36 for hog hunting well after SS, it was more effective for aiming, on a dark hog. As stated in the review, reticle type can make or break a scope in low light too.

Great read, thanks again!
