I'll start in Savannah, Georgia. A beautiful city if anyone has ever thought of visiting.

A nice 24 pound Striped Bass.

Caught about a mile from all this.

Moving down the coast a little to St. Simons; this is a Tripletail. This is the only one I have ever caught. They get up to 40 pounds and I've seen some in the 20-30 pound class that refused to cooperate. They are kind of an odd fish; in the hottest part of summer they will come to the surface and float there on their side like they were dead.

are these eating fish, or catching for sport?
All the Striped Bass in that part of the river have to be released. That contraption behind me was a Corps of Engineer project that was supposed to keep the ship channel from silting in. It didn't work and it nearly decimated the Striper population, it's disabled now and the fish are making a comeback.

Today's installment is my biggest ever Sea Trout, 4lbs. These fish aren't remotely related to fresh water trout, they are in the drum family. It was also the only tournament I have ever fished in and I won the big fish prize ($22), that fellow behind was not too happy cause I just beat him out. That fish was swimming in hot grease minutes after the picture was taken.

Caught at the mouth of the Aucilla River, Florida.

Great pics guys.

Chief, I can't tell from the photo, but is that camaro or firebird behind you? If you don't still have it, I bet you wish you did!

I can't claim the poundage you guys are getting but today I took a hike up to a high mountain lake, right at 10,000 ft. Only about 4 miles in, but the elevation gain was tough. The fishing was easy, with a catch every other cast or so - can't say enough good about those panther martin lures. These are cutthroat trout, or some cutthroat hybrid.

Threatening thunderstorms chased us off the mountain. All of the trout made it out alive this trip. They'd be spoiled on the hike out unless you had enough mojo to pack ice with you! Here's some pics:

The lake is around the corner to the left in this last photo.

I did have my S&W 22LR revolver just in case some mad goats visited us! I did leave my backpack open on the ground while traversing around the lake, and some little varmint (golden squirrel or chipmunk) got into it and violated my sandwhich! I'm sure glad there are no rattlesnakes at these elevations.

A little skillet and some grease would be lighter than ice. :D
Yup, that would fix those trout, wouldn't it. :D Trouble is, we're under a burn ban here....even though there's nothing to burn up there, that logic would be lost on the FS ranger (those are pretty scarce though in locations like this!). There's about a dozen small stunted spruce in the vicinity of the lake, maybe with enough dead branches to make a fire and fry a fish or two. :p

Nobody has posted on the "Game Pole" in a good while so I thought I would slip another fish picture in here. This is a nice Redfish, caught just off Shell Point, Florida. They have some different names depending on where you go. Channel Bass, Red Drum and probably some more I'm forgetting. This is the fish Paul Prudhome put a dent in with the "Blackened Redfish" craze.

I've caught some bigger but not on this kind of tackle. It was 40 feet of water and I was using the little Shimano Curado, a Loomis popping rod and 10 pound line. Pictured to my left.

Maybe I'll have some deer pictures soon, I've been eyeing three pretty nice bucks this weekend. I know ya'll would prefer that.
