Canjar trigger instructions?

Does anyne have a copy of Canjar's instructions for their single-set trigger he would be willing to scan and put up on the web or e-mail to me?

I have inherited an early Remington 721 with the Canjar trigger. The trigger shoe is too wide to fit through the trigger guide plate, so I can't take the rifle apart with the shoe in place.

The trigger shoe appears to have two very tiny screws (like on eyeglasses) and a pin through it, and there are obviously small parts and springs in the setting mechanism. I am reluctant to fiddle with those small screws in the trigger shoe without knowing what I'm doing. Can anybody help?

Thanks,

The Old Guy

TOG,

I'm going from memory at this point, will not be able to get to the instructions for a while.

So, I've got a Canjar on a Rem 700 and that little pin on the trigger shoe holds it in place. Unless someone has used locktite or buggered the pin, it should push out and the shoe will fall off.

You have e-mail

TOG,

The pdf file is too large to post here. I've scanned my instructions for a Canjar single set trigger, (Remington) models 40X, XP100, 700, 721,722, & 725. It's about 444KB, pdf.

Will e-mail to those interested.

Hi Craig,

I would like to avail myself of your kind offer to e-mail instructions for the CANJAR trigger. I recently acquired a Winchester Model 52 match rifle equipped with a CANJAR. In an effort to remove the bolt for cleaning, I had to remove the trigger group. Curiosity got the better of me and I disassembled it to see if there was an easier way to remove the bolt without completely disassembling the rifle. I got it all back together and it seems to work, but it would be nice to have a set of instructions to help me better understand how it works. I understand there may be some differences between the Remington 700 model trigger and the Winchester model, but the designs might be similar enough to help.

Thanks,

pdf of canjar single set trigger

Craig.
I read your post and I would really appreciate it if you sent me the pdf on these triggers. A friend of mine asked me to look for it for him....r1656@aol.com. Fell free to contact me. He was hoping I can find him a detailed schematic of it as he would like to disassemble it for cleaning and put it back together. Thank You

Canjar Instructions - Markone

I've just joined this forum after attempting to remove the shoe from the Canjar trigger on my Remington 722 and being stumped in the process. I found Markone's scan of the instructions on the forum, but they're tough to read and I have been unable to print them from there. Could you email me the scan at ramahume@hotmail.com?

Thanks a million.

Guys - if you can find the "zoom" feature on your lower tool bar of your monitor and take the screen to, say 150% of normal, you should have no difficulty in reading the printed instructions shown above.

I have a Canjar Trigger [not the same one you have] on my Springfield receiver. The shoe is held on with a pin that is attached to an allen head screw. To take the shoe off, I first loosened the RHS allen head screw until it was completely disengaged, then I pushed the pin out from the LHS with a small punch. The allen head screw and the pin are all on a single shaft. There is a spring that is uncovered when the shoe is removed. Fortunately, it did not fly away when I removed the shoe.

I printed the Canjar instructions posted by markone and was able to read all of it. I have a Model 52 Winchester target(B Model) with a Canjar trigger. I have never had any trouble with the Canjar so I've never messed with it. The only trouble I'm having is the rifles cocking mechanism usually takes a couple of operations to get it latched to fire another round. I don't know if this is an adjustment or the bolt is worn out. The rifle has been around since 1935. Serial number is 30288. I think I'll have my gunsmith look at it for a professional opinion. With Federal UM22 the rifle is a tack driver on my 100 yard range. I have a Unertal 18 power scope on it.
