peep sight for sako

Registered Users do not see the above ad.

I have a friend of mine who has a Sako finbear 338 win,Manlicher stock,20'' barrel.,around mid eighties model. He wants to set it up with peep sights for hunting in thick brush up here in the interior. He got in touch with Sako to see if they offer such thing for his rig and no luck.I told him to try lyman and the same thing. So I told to take it to a smith, but he wants to see if there a bolt on deal or whatever.I yet have seen th rifle in question so I don't know if all the info I gave was entirely accurate.Any info to point me in the right direction would be appreciated

Many Sako were able to accept a peep sight built by Sako itself. These were mounted on Sako's dovetail scope base. I have one of these in my collection. These sights should be available on EBAY regularly.

Check with WILLIAM'S GUNSIGHT. That would have been my first "go to". They seem to make applications for just about everything. They would also be your best bet to have something made up. Lyman would be another.

I have four SAKO and they were all designed for SAKO's own sight that fits its integral scope base. It is a simple two-position sight but one that has worked well for me for 50+ years and it always is aligned if I remove it for a scope and want to replace it.
