Does anyone know how the early archery elk season went this year in Washington state? I'm wondering what affect moving the season back one week had.

Thanks,

good and bad

I've hunted in gmu 673 williams creek in south west corner of washington for the last 2 years. 2002 early elk archery season started sept 1 the bulls were quiet and hard to find but were still alone with no cows around , made it much easier to get in close. This year the season started sept 8 ,this sounded great because I figuered the bulls would be more talketive being more in the rut . This was true to a small
extent but what really did'nt help ,was all the bulls I came acrossed had lots of nervous ladies around . The bulls just wanted to get there girls away from me to. So next year being that the season starts again on the 8th I'd say the first week is the best bet , while the bulls are more willing to work with you.
