Anyone with hunting experience using Meopta?

Registered Users do not see the above ad.

I am getting a new rifle and have always put 4.5-14 power scopes on my rifles.
My favorite has been the Zeiss Conquest with a 44 mm optic and one inch tube, Great scope for hunting because it gathers light so well. But, the experts at Zeiss have discontinued the darn thing and now it has become a 3-15x with a $250 increase in price. I've heard good things about Meopta, and the price is better
Just wondered if anyone was using their scopes.
I am an Analog man. I have no use for milspecs, distance locators, illuminators, or any other horns, whistles, or bells inside the sight picture. I just want a simple duplex reticle.
Haven't bought a scope in a while and just found out how hard it is to get a simple duplex reticle with a higher magnification.
Any comments good or bad much appreciated.
Thank you fellows

I have read some glowing reviews of Meopta scopes from several owners, but have not owned or used one myself. Only other comment I'll make is that I would not dismiss the Zeiss series that is their old 3X zoom line, the Terra.

I have mounted and used one in 2-732 and also compared it directly to a Conquest in 2.5-832 I also own. Equal low light performance from the Terra to my eyes. It's a darn shame that the Conquest went to 5X zoom with its additional cost. But I think the Terra uses the same 3X zoom system as the older 3X Conquests.

Thx Hunter,
The place I hunt has some strict rules on size of horns. At 200 yds or so, I do need the extra magnification in order to judge them. I think I'll give the Meopta a try.
It seems that in the span of three years since I've bought a scope, all of the 14X and up are selling with all of the BDL reticals and distance locators. Hard to find one with a simple sight picture.
Thx again

I have owned and hunted with a Meopta 3-9 as well as a Zeiss Conquest 3-9, Both 40mm objective, and regular duplex reticles.
I can't tell the difference between them at all, optically. Both outstanding scopes.

The Zeiss Conquest scopes are made by Meopta. Also, the Cabelas Instinct Euro scopes are made by Meopta and can be a steal when on sale.

Meopta makes excellent photography optics, I can't see why their scopes would be just as good.

Keep your powder dry and when you go afield take the kids and please..........wear your seat belts.
I am the ORIGINAL recoil junky , often imitated, but never equalled.
