Mauser M03 scope mount

Registered Users do not see the above ad.

Hi there!
I'm about to buy a Mauser M03 synthetic.
My question is about the scope mount....
The dealer has a expensive mount dedicated to Zeiss...it costs 550$!?
I wonder if anyone knows a diffrent and cheaper way to mount so that
I dont have to buy a Zeiss scope...
Anyone?
Thanx in advance!
Oliver from Sweden

Welcome to the shooters forum.

Did a quick look online. Found several different mounts other than Zeiss. The bad news they are all $595. Don't think you will have to buy a Zeiss scope. Didn't have any luck finding the rings that match the speciality bases.

Just found something else. The Blazer R93 mount will fit but can't imagine it being less money.

Hi and thanx!

My dealer will give me a nice discount on the mount, approx 50% off....so around 275 dollars...but IŽll still have to buy a Zeiss scope with rail on...and they are not cheap...
I would like to have some way to put ordinary rings so I can have a scope that I like...and not to be forced to buy a Zeiss...
The dealer didn't have the other mounts to different manufacturers...only for Zeiss...

What diameter are the holes in the top? How deep?

I'm sure it would be way to handy for those recesses to the same as Conetrol!!

Those recess must be tapered inside like a reverse funnel?

I can make what you need, but I'll need some dimensions to figure out the best way to do it.

Thanx for the offer!
Sounds great that you can make something that works!
The thing is that I live in Sweden...and I don't know the dimensions but that part I can figure out.
IŽll get back to you but first IŽll see if thereŽs other solutions, like a cheap third party to buy...

Revilo-- I'm trying to figure out how the scope mounts work--There must be a recess bigger than the hole in the rear portion of the hole. When the levers are swung around a part on the bottom of a spud that fits in the hole expands and locks the spud in the hole and pressed forward...or maybe the hole is tapered so the bottom is bigger than the top and the lever expand the whole spud. That's the part I can't figure out. How is the mount held into those two holes? Once that is known, the rest should be fairly easy.

According to the link above, they've got a screw coming in from the bottom. Simple enough!
