I bought the ammo from Midwayusa, and shot 10 rounds in my Remington 592. It shot great and my scope was still sighted in after all these years! I am planning on stocking up (I bought 150 rounds). I only have 8 rounds of my original remington ammo, so I was not out but pretty near. I am planning on buying a revolver in the 5mm; and also another rifle if Marlin makes one.

only $16.19 per box, plus S&H

less than $29 per box for me
So let it be written, so let it be done.

The 5mm Remington is a rim fire bottleneck cartridge. It was introduced in the early seventies and discontinued a couple years later. The US ammo manufacturers aren't making that ammo anymore that I'm aware of and the stuff available is imported.

Gone again...............

......or at least it's about to be. Got an e-mail from the importer. Centurion has ceased production of 5mm ammo with no current plans to resume.

For some reason 5mm Ren was sinking the day after it hit the market. I was glad I never got one. Hard as ammo was to find after a couple years, you'd think they only sold three of the things! I was an interesting cartridge who's time simply had not come! Came out around 1971 or '72.

An LGS picked up a couple of 5mm Remington rifles here while back along with about 6 boxes of ammo. The rifles are priced fair for what they are but he is wanting a fortune for the shells; around 45 dollars a box. It is all vintage Remington ammo.
