Weaver base for Ruger Mark III Target?

Registered Users do not see the above ad.

I just acquired a stainless Ruger Mark III Target semiautomatic pistol with 5.5-inch bull barrel. I intend to mount an Ultradot L/T sight. The L/T mounts via Weaver scope bases ONLY. Please identify bases for the pistol that accept Weaver-type rings AND allow the adjustable sight assembly to remain on the pistol.

I have used both the Factory Ruger Weaver Style Mount and the Weigand Weaver Style Mount. Both work equally as well.

Your Ruger MKIII should have come supplied with a mount. If you bought the MKIII new and it did not come with a mount I would get in touch with Ruger and let them know and that you need a mount.

I put an Ultradot LT on a MK II678GC. I love it. I think I used the Weigand weaver rail.

That is correct the Ruger MKIII should have come drilled and tapped for scope mount and have a mount in the box with screws.
I just got one and first I mounted a NC Star 2X on it and it was good but at longer ranges the low power gave me problems with aiming so I got a 2-7X NC Star and as far as I am concerned that is the program now.

I shot it at 100 yards and got 5-6" groups with standard velocity ammo. I shot it at 200 yards and could keep them in E silhouette.

Had a friend come up and shoot it on my range and he fell in love with it and went out and bought a 5.5" heavy barrel stainless. We mounted a 2-7x scope on it after the initial zero he shot a 100-9X at 50 yards on conventional pistol target with Remington Standard Velocity Target ammo.

He took it home a couple days ago and so far has taken out six squirrels that were doing his pecans a number and loves the combo.
