Hey folks, this is my first time posting on this forum and I want/need your opinion. I've been an avid air rifle and firearms shooter since I was 6 years old, but now I'm finally getting out of the high powered air rifle hunting and into .22's. The Marlin model 60 and the Winchester Wildcat is what I am looking between to buy, but I can't decide! I've read tons of positive reviews on the model 60, with maybe one negative one; but on the other hand I can't find any real in depth reviews on the Winchester wildcat, which leads me to believe that for my money it's too new to try and take the plundge on. Ok, I gave ya'll my situational food for thought, DIGEST!!!!!!!!

I really appreciate any and all help in this matter, lol. Thank you in advance.

Welcome to the forum. Rules are simple, be nice and join in.

I don't know what kind of triggers your used to on your air guns, but you may be dissipointed in the triggers on both of the rifles you mentioned. If I were recommending a semi-auto 22 rifle it would be the Ruger 10-22 with an aftermarket trigger and sear in it.

If you want something truly accurate with a great trigger then I would recommend A CZ 452 with Erik Brooks 14 dollar trigger upgrade kit or the CZ 453 with the wonderful single set trigger. My 452 with Erik's trigger kit has the trigger breaking at 2 pounds with no creep or overtravel. On a good day with no wind and target ammo mine will do a one inch hundred yard five shot group. The only other 22 that I've owned that would do that was a Winchester 52 heavy target rifle.

Here's where to look at the CZ's

Here's where to look at really good prices on them.

never owned the winchester. but a good many marlin 60s.. other than replacing a firing pin,,
ive never had one to go bad an let me tell you ,im guilty of treating them bad because they were so cheap..never put decent optics onum because everyone said they weren t worth it.. let me tell you they were wrong.. i have the cz an its the most accurate 22 gun i have by just a little tad over my marlin 60s an the marlin carries 15 rnds for the current 60. 18 for the older ones..
where the cz shines a little brighter is at 100 yrd mark.
now having said that ..if i had to be a sniper with a 22 id rather have my cz.. for home defence and a firefight along with excellent accuracy in a fun gun it would be the marlin 60..
so if you are looking for value and craftmanship as good as ive seen .. the cz452..
if you are looking for what i think might be the best survival rifle ive seen [you carry a lotta 22s in your pocket.]especially with the velocitor by cci.. the 60 is my choice..
just depends on what you looking for.. my sister bought a mossburg 15 shot semi saturday..
she loves it i think an hope .. at least she did saturday..;) good luck slim
ps oh heck just get a cz452 and a marlin 60.. i
wouldn t want to be without either one of mine..
