1885 twist rate

Registered Users do not see the above ad.

Have just acquired a Browning 1885 made in 1989. It is a 7MM Mag. Want to know the twist rate - or, how to find it.
Thanks, John .

You can stick a cleaning rod down the barrel with a tight fitting patch on the end. Mark where you start and where the rod has made a complete revolution, then measure the distance between the marks. That will be "1 turn in X inches", which will be your twist.
