My slick gun of choice would be the Sauer 90 Lux or Colt Sauer rifle. Had one in .270 Win that I bought in Bad Tolz Germany. Miss that rifle, very smooth action, high polish metal and wood.

Yeah; that finish looks like liquid glass. I think the Europeans produce very fine rifles because only the well-heeled can buy them and these same don't mind paying a ton for a fine gun. In America, just about anybody can scare up a few hundred bucks for a well-kept used gun or even a few extra bucks for a new one. I'm guessing a $1000 rifle in America would have its European-built cousin at two or three times as much, but it would be a work of art like that Sauer. We Americans can buy and sell and trade-off guns in almost a willy-nilly fashion. It's easy for us to buy and sell a gun. Not so in Europe. Much more difficult there, so I'd say Europeans buy a high-quality gun and intend to keep it for decades. No easy-come, easy-go over there...
