Anyone have a Vortex Razor HD spotting scope?

Registered Users do not see the above ad.

I'm looking to add another spotting scope to my bag of tools.

I saw the Vortex Razor HD for $2k and was wondering if anyone has one, and if so, how does it compare to Leupold in the similar price range?

It will be used primarily for hunting, maybe some range use, but I already have scope's that work well for the range.

No experience with that scope but if you are interested I'll offer my standard advice on optics. Go to a dealer who handles the models you are interested in and try them outside in dimming light.

I bought one at Cabela's last year for $1350.00 on sale. I like the optics at the range but it's too heavy to carry on a hunt. However, it's about the same weight as all the other 85mm scopes!

Late to the party. I have one. Like others said, heavy, but excellent glass.

I have a little Vortex Razor 11-33

It has great clarity and Im very happy with it.

Its not the one you are looking at, but I have several Vortex optics over the last several years, and I was a die hard Leupold guy!

My Son just purchased the 11x33, nice scope for field/hunting. But his had to go back to Vortex upon arrival, it wouldn't focus at all, something inside wasn't right. But Vortex is a stand up company and took care of him, he had another scope in his hands within 7 or 8 days.

I'm still a Leupold guy when it concerns rifle scopes and binoculars. I've spent the last 5 or 6 years using Vortex rifle scopes and binoculars, that said, I haven't found any that compare to Leupold, IMHO. And even though QC isn't nearly as good as Leupold, they're hard to beat for the money considering they have some of the best CS in the industry, they'll do what ever it takes to make you happy. I sent one scope back 3 times and they never got nasty about, they just kept working on the problem until I was satisfied.
