I'm looking for NEF and/ or H&R rifles in 260, 308, 7mm-08, and similar long actions.
I'll even take a 243 for a conversion project to 338 Federal.
As I'm sure everyone would expect, in decent condition please, not looking for pristine as these will be working rifles, just decent.
I am thinking about pull the trigger on a Ruger Gunsite Scout .308 18" stainless (Model 6822).
The reason why I am posting this is just to see if I am missing anything out there that is better than the GSR for what I need, before I drop almost a grand on it.
My use case for this rifle...
Looking for some info on Kimber's longmaster in 308 and a scope to match it. I mainly punch paper and steel plate out to 300 yards. I spent this past weekend shooting a few bolt action rifles in .223 and 308, they we're pretty basic rifles, but it really gave me the needed bump to make a new...
Hello, I'm looking for an extremely low budget scope, but a scope that can still hold a decent zero, with the tactical look to it. I've narrowed down my two scopes to a Nikko stirling target master 4-16x44 and a millett trs-1 4-16x50. I'll be putting this on a 308, planning to shoot maybe a 3...
I am going to buy a Mossberg 100atr from bass pro, but I can't decide if I want a 243 or 308 for decently long range shooting, probably max of 600-800 yards. I don't hand load and don't like to spend a lot on high end ammo, but I just want to know which round is best for shooting at least 2"...
I am currently looking for a new target rifle. I will be shooting at distances up to 700 yards.(longest range in the area). I am not new to shooting but my experience is with closer range. Is the 308 the way to go or is there a smarter option? Cost is a factor but not a driving force.
I just bought my first Savage and am having some issues with it so I thought someone here may have some insight. I purchased a Savage Trophy Hunter XP in .308 with a Nikon 3x9 BDC. I took it to the range to sight it in, before which I thourougly cleaned it, and took my first shot at 100 yards...
want to know if any one has any reloading info on hornady 165gr interbond. I have a new Tikka T3 varmint heavy barrel. I have shot factory loads to sight in etc and want to start reloading but wanted to know if anyone has reloaded this combo?
What is the most accurate .308 with a 26'' bull barrel for under $800? I plan to do long range shooting out to 800 yds I have an excellent 22-250 that I can shoot .25" groups with at 100yds but past 600 it does not have enough energy. Any and all advice will be appreciated thanks.
If you have a local academy sports and outdoors or gander mountain, they have ammo on sale.
Winchester power point
243 & 270 $15.99
243 & 270 $15.99
There is also a $2 mail-in-rebate the drops the price even...
Anyone have any experience with loading this combo? Does it work best with 168 gr. on up? or is it better suited to 150's?
Right now the powders at my command include Varget, BLC-2, 748, Benchmark, IMR 4350, 4320, 4895, and RE-15.
Looking for something for two specific load developments.
Been looking for a rifle for my niece, the Howas weren't even on my radar, but I looked at a couple of them at a gun shop the other day. I really liked how it looked, felt, and shouldered, and the price was pretty good, too :-). Trigger seemed pretty decent, but that can and probably will...
My wife is looking for a hunting rifle, something not too expensive and that doesnt say Remington on it. She will be using it for elk and Nilgai. Anything smaller she will use her bow. Gun is probably going to be used maybe twice a year. She is looking at the Howa 1500 in .308. She doesnt...
I know this is a dumb question, but here goes:
I have seen references to both 30-06 and 7.62mm NATO as being .308. Yet 7.62mm equates to exactly .300 inch or 30 caliber. Is the .008 allowance for a snug fit in the 30 caliber barrel? If not, why is 7.62mm NATO also referred to as a .308? Thanks.
I have a little bit of $$$ to play with, and after alot of thought I have decided to get a Remington 700 SPS Varmint. I have always wanted a "precision" type rifle that can be built upon. The one question I am really struggling with: do I get a .223 or a .308 win? I enjoy shooting...
Well I have been saving my money and want to add these two calibers to my collection and these two guns - the Win model 70 and Browning BLR. I can't decide which caliber to get in which gun. I know there are larger problems in the world....but I am torn.
The 7mm-08 would only be used for...
Wondering if anyone has info on the 16.5" barrel 308? Seems kinda short, but nice little gun. Slip on recoil pad could improve on the 12.5" LOP. Fire breathing dragon? Too short of a barrel? I sure like the weight and compact concept. Considering buying one.
