you HAVE shut me up!
Anyway- did you hear that they handed out all copper bullets around the Jackson Wyoming area, and they have tested the "blood of ravens" and noticed a 28% decrease in lead levels?
I heard it on NPR, (I listened until my gag reflex kicked in) Did they report how many less shots were even taken? Did they report how many less elk and deer were taken? (Wolves)
No!!
I like Barnes X, but this is just another way to "control" guns.
The pictures I took yesterday show about 20% of the elk on the winter range that was here last year.
Where is the outrage?
Right here!
So, back to the silence.

muleyskinner,
Can you provide a bit more info concerning your post, like a link to a news story, or the cited NPR report? Otherwise, your post is appearing as a rant with nothing more preserving it from being locked.

There was the same hysteria in CA, but that hysteria DID result in a ban on lead ammo in parts of CA (in the condor range).

Anyone that has any knowledge at all knows that elevated lead (and mercury) levels are coming from the airborne elements from the exhausts of (mainly) power plants and mining operations, but other industries as well. But, the anti-gun greenies overlook this since they like their electronics, and their electricity, but they don't like guns and their lead bullets.

Total ban on lead hunting ammo is pending legislation here in Kalifornia - you can be sure that the "Dumbinator" will sign it into law if it gets to him. You all have the "wolf" huggers and we have the mountain lion idiots. So now for years the Big Horn Sheep and dear populations have declined significantly but we have plenty of Mountain Lions because you cannot hunt them - I only wish liberals would understand that hunting is the best way to maintain healthy populations of all animals including mountain lions and wolves.

Found 3 more dead condors in the Grand Canyon area a couple weeks ago. Autopsy reportedly stated death due to lead poisoning.

Arizona G&F has encouraged hunters to use lead-free ammo in this area. No law as of yet that I know of. With these deaths, it won't be long before the PITA's are banging on legislative doors demanding a lead-free state like Kalifornie.

hmmmmm, don't get me started cuz wolves messed up an Idaho elk hunt.

Anyway, it doesn't make statistical sense to me that a few hunting bullets
used to harvest game would have such an impact. I would more readily believe
that the animals being consumed by the infected scavengers are already
"lead poisoned" by an already infected ecosystem.
Just look at the number of
streams and lakes that fish consumption advisories.... which brings me to my next
point....... Ummmm, hello,... anglers who use "lead" weights, in my believable world,
should have a much larger "lead footprint" than hunters who might shoot once or twice
a year leaving a gutpile behind. (I've never had nor heard of a bullet getting lodged in
the liver or other organs...)

PLUS, these anglers are throwing 100% lead directly into
our drinking water!!!!! HELLO!!!! It's ok.... 100 years from now historians will probably
link the widespread practice of drinking out of metal cans to the downfall of the late
modern age......just as lead pipes didn't do any favors to the mental stability of the
Romans..... aaaahhhh, heck just my .02

From previous reading I seem to recall lead poisoning is accumlative. So it's very unlikely that any crows with a certain level of lead in their bodies will eventually read lower on the tests.

These can not be scientists, true scientists take repeated samples from many different sources over many years before issuing a finding. These are the same "scientists" and the GW idiots hired to fix their findings.
