Hello All,

I recently purchased a CZ 455 American Combo in .22LR and .17 HMR. Nice rifle, I think. Already shot a few squirrels with the 22, but haven't mounted the .17 barrel yet. I bought a Tipton rod which has a female fitting, in 5-32. I also purchased a Hoppes .17 bronze brush, which ALSO has a FEMALE fitting. looks to be 5-32 as well. Do I need an adapter for the .17 brush, or do they also come in 5-32 MALE? I will also need an adapter for to mount a .22 brush which will have an 8-32 MALE fitting, I think.

Is there no standardization on .17 cleaning tools? I'd appreciate any input/suggestions.

Thanks very much!

I shoot an HMR and have run into the same thing. You have to watch since all rods for the HMR don't have the same threads also. They do make male threaded brushes the ones I'm using are from Pro-Shot Products, item # 17R.
