That's not a bad price seeing that they don't make the 24" model anymore. I got mine for about $500 when they were making the 24" model. Mine doesn't have the saddle ring. You were lucky to get it for that price. You'll really love it. They are good shooters!!!

That is a really nice rife. My cowboy 1894 has the 20 in barrel and I love it. My two 1894s, 44 and 357 are my favorite carrying around rifles. I always have one along when I go for a walk in the woods.

I still like a few having all of them. hehehe! I am in need of a 336 CB 30-30 and a 1894 CB in 357 to have all the long barreled models. Then there are the short ones. Don't have any of those yet. To be honet I don't care for the short ones I have seen in person. The 24 inch guns seem to have a lot nicer wood on them. Now the 1894 Cowboy Competition in 45 would be a prize. Got to have something to shoot for.

I happen to have one more of six_gunz saddle rings I think I will put it on the 44-40. I would like to put it on the 44 Sporter but it is a pre safety rifle and I ain't boring a hole in it.
