Can any of you point me to an article or tutorial about setting up a good 1911 trigger? I've done trigger jobs on a bunch of other handguns and rifles, but this will be the first time for a 1911, and it's always nice to read about it first, although I can learn as I go if necessary.

I know Kunhausen's 1911 book is the correct place to start, I have Kunhausen's books for a couple other guns, but haven't got one yet for the 1911. I'm planning to do a trigger job on a friend's gun this weekend, and just looking for suggestions before I get into it. The gun was put together from parts, by someone else, and has the worst trigger I've ever felt. My scale won't go that high, but I'm guessing 12 pounds, or maybe more.

Thanks guys.

Go to Brownell's tech section and how-to's. Curser down to 1911 articles. You can download them and print them out. They are in both windows and PDF formats. Here's the links. Brownell's also has all the 1911 customizing stuff you could ever want.

There's 13 articles on building the 1911 and four dedicated to just making it more accurate.

Thanks guys. Bob, I shoulda thought to look at Brownell's before posting. I did find one of their articles about how to do a 2 1/2 lb trigger, which contains all the info I need. Thanks again.
