I sure could have used a butt pad for my mfg. in 1908, Model 1894 .30 WCF Sporting Rifle with a brass, crescent shape butt. Do they even make crescent shape ones anymore? I did find out that the correct way to shoot one is not to put it up against your shoulder, but against your raised bicep which requires tilting the rifle to aim to your target

The 94's are great rifles but they never came with any kind of recoil absorbing buttpads. The earliest models had steel butt plates and later on they had hard plastic. I'd definitely toss that thing.
