I have a Remington M700 22/250 which I am having rechambered to 22/250 Ackley Improved. Anyone have any experience reloading for this caliber? I will be using 55 grain Hornady V-Max and Nosler Ballistic Tip bullets. It is my understanding that you can equal and even exceed the performance of the 220 Swift. Any comments?

Had a Ruger M77 chambered in the AI configuration years ago and really liked it. A coworker liked it even more and made me an offer I couldn't refuse!

I doubt if you'll be able to exceed the .220 Swift, but you'll be right up there with it using certain loads. This round is a barrel burner (naturally, due to velocity) but it is certainly accurate enough. Normally, when you improve a cartridge you'll get about 4% increase in velocity and a case capacity increase of similar percentage. The greater shoulder angle and straighter wall dimensions will aid greatly in headspacing and less bolt thrust.
