Mlivie,

What weight bullet(s) would you like to use and what velocity range are you shooting for?

mlivie,

You've come to the right place, 'cause where the .30-30 is concerned my friend John Kort is The Man!

One suggestion though. At the velocities you mentioned, go with a somewhat softer bullet alloy around 15 BHN or so for best results, particularly if you want to hunt with the cast loads. John, would you agree?

Bill,
Thank you for the kind words. I am humbled..........
Yes, I would definitely agree that soft-medium hardness bullets  will work the best most of the time in the 1500-1800 f.p.s. range.

mlivie,
Here are some loads I've used that have given good results in the velocity range you are shooting for.

16 grs. / 4227 / CCI 200 primer
17 grs. / 4759 / Rem 9 1/2 primer
18 grs. / 5744 / WLR primer
25 grs. / 4895 / WLR primer

No doubt there are other powders / loads that would work just as well, but these are the ones I have used would good success.

Good luck,
John
