A relative bought some loaded 30-06 rounds with these silver 220 grain RN bullets in them. We took them all apart, and now I'm curious who made these bullets. Sorry for the somewhat fuzzy cellphone picture.

They look like Winchester Silver tips to me...just a guess though.

The're not Silvertips. I've got a couple old '06 rounds in my collection with what looks like the same bullet. Some sort of military round maybe?

Military round bullets. I have a .30-40 in my collection that has the same bullet. The bullet jacket is nickel.

More questions ---> cannelure, so they were undoubtedly crimped into the groove. NOT magnetic would be my guess.
'06 huh ? I know that before the bigger and better chamberings came about there were some '06 loads that used heavy bullets. I remember a 200gr but not 220. Could have been though,I guess.

Were the primers gold or silver ?? Gold would be my guess. Did they appear to have any case mouth or primer sealant ??

Could be 30-03 ammo with tinned bullets.

They were handloads with silver primers. No sealant.

Definitely out of '06 cases. IMR stick powder of some sort.
