Hello, I received my Winchester Model 71 (1939 long tang) last week and am looking foreward to handloading Hawk's 250 gr. bullets. I hunt elk here in Colorado and the 250 grain Hawk bullet with the .035 jacket sounds like the bullet for me. Since Hawk bullets are softer they fill the groves more deeply and the barrel lands really impress deeply into the bullet, so they require less powder to obtain the same velocity as other brands of bullets (per their web site). If anyone has any loading experience with the .348 WCF using these bullets please post your thoughts. I am also in search of a versatile powder to use with the .348 that would also work well in my .375 H&H with 270 gr. bullets. I recently obtained 1000 RWS Large Rifle primers that I plan on using for my hand loading. Any experience with those? Thank you, Bruce
