I will defer to handloading the .35 Remington to my good friend Mr. James Gates, who has infinitely more experience with this cartridge than I. However I can comment on your particular rifle. Yours is a Model 336A, with a 24" barrel and six-shot magazine. It was introduced by Marlin in 1948 and continued in production until 1962. Reintroduced in 1973, the 336A saw its final demise in 1980.

That's sounds like a real winner you have on your hands. Or should I say your son's hands, 'cause I doubt Dad's gonna get much chance to shoot it!

I would agree that your .38-55/245 load is going a bit fast for a plain base design. I would keep those under 1500 fps or so and use a GC bullet for the full power stuff. Did you experience any leading?
