rackettc,
Before I became a confirmed cast bullet junkie, I had very good luck with the Speer 220 gr FN over 46.0 grs. of IMR 4064, stuffed in Win. brass and a CCI 200 primer. Velocity was clocked at just over 2300 fps with accuracy in the 1-1.5" range at 100 yds. in both my Marlin 336ER and two other buddies 336ER's. Those Marlins shoot! Consider yourself fortunate in owning one of these fine calibered leverguns as Marlin only made a little over 2,400 of them. Too bad the shooting public didn't pick up on this, as poor sales forced Marlin to drop it.
Now, for cast bullet loads, try these:
BTB .359"-210g LFNGC/50.0g H335/WLRP/Win brass/2310 fps
BTB .359-210g LFNGC/47.3g IMR 4895/WLRP/Win brass/2446 fps
BTB .359-210g LFNGC/40.8g H4198/WLRP/Win brass/2487 fps
As always, start 5% lower in reference to powder charge, and work up ! Seat bullets so they just kiss the lands, when chambered. I've had extremely good results with the above loads. I substituted the RCBS .35 200 gr FN for Marshall's, with same results. For best groups, allow the barrel to cool, between shots, as cast bullets are more sensitive in this regard. These loads were printed out by Marshall early last year for the Winchester 94BB. As I stated, I've used them in my Marlin 336ER, without a hitch. Just work up s l o w l y.......
Hope this helps. Just ask, and ye shall receive by someone on this sight. <!--emo&
