hello im completly new on the wildcat stuff i have a 375 rum and was thinking about reaming it out to 416 or 458 just change the neck on the case then get a 338 rum for long range work what could i expect out of the 458 and 416 out of the 375 case as far as velocity and cost of modifactions i have a remington model 700 28 in barrel ss laminate stock thankyou for your time

Since the RUM case is somewhat smaller than the .378 Wby case, you should expect somewhat less velocity (100-200 fps) in either the 416 or 458 version. Using a longer barrel will maximize the potential for either cartridge. Cost is more a factor of who's barrel you start with and who chambers and installs it for you.

don't bother messin' round with any of that small stuff....just go and find yourself a 460 Weatherby Mag and have fun .....
