Why couldn't you do this in the BLR long action? This rifle is obviously much more available than a 1895 Winchester.

The BLR takes the pressures of a magnum so is there any reason this would not work?

Need your expertise and knowledge!! Thanks Much in advance!

I do not have a BLR, but I would thing the bolt face might cause some concern going to the rimmed case.  The other concern may be the rimmed case feeding in the magazine.  The 95 was designed with rims in mind, but the BLR was not.

Since the Browning is designed for rimless cases you may run into problems. Why not build a wilcat based on the magnum cases like the 7mm remington necked up to 40 cal, or the 458 win necked down.

Henry,
There's a whole set of wildcats based on the '06 case that you should be to fool around with to duplicate the 405.  I'm having one built in 411 Hawk, which is pretty close, though mine will be on a 95 action.  The possibilities are endless....

You might want to check Z-hat's website, just for reference.  Send them an email and see if they'll work with the BLR.

Hope this helps
