The interest level has garnered a commitment from RCBS to resume manufacturing or 44 AMP Carbide Dies. Here's a copy of the Automag update from the end of August 21, 2021.
I expect Starline to have 44 AMP brass available in the near future.
Message To all our everlasting fans and customers
I want to acknowledge with deepest appreciation; the entire the Auto Mag family, from our enthusiastic loyal fans and customers to the contribution of the team making more than 55 improvements to the original design; to our latest addition. Thanks to all.
Auto Mag is on the verge of having our completed our in-house production line for all critical parts that we only have one outside vendor, except the ability to rifle barrels. (We are working on that as well) We are setting up the capability to manufacture a minimum 3,000 guns in the next 12 months. We have pre-ordered parts and materials and are busy stockpiling those components to insure seamless production capability. To further that end, we have purchased a significant amount of new machinery to give us in-house capability to manufacture most Auto Mags parts. These additions include a four-axis mill, multi-spindle lathe, and five-axis EDM machine.
Auto Mag in the News!
Hand in hand with our attention to production capability, we are initiating a concerted Marketing Campaign to formally announce the return of the Auto Mag .44 to the Firearms Community. Our first announcement came with a sterling review by Justin Opinion on his Guns America YouTube channel (
YouTube Link) There are several major publicity actions being made in the near future. The first is Auto Mag’s participation in the upcoming NRA Meeting and Exhibits on September 3rd thru 5th at booth #4113. Next, we are preparing to ship an Auto Mag to several YouTube gun channels and one cable TV program for review plus there is an article coming out in the American Hunter where the new Auto Mag was used on a hog hunt in Texas.
Due to the Covid-19 Pandemic, we are experiencing temporary delays in delivery of products. We have receiving longer than usual lead times, and, in some instances, we have been required to find alternative sources of supply. We are working diligently to resolve these supply chain issues and provide you with a quality product that you will be proud to own.
As always, our primary goal is to ensure the health and safety of our employees and to produce a safe and reliable product for your use. As you know the cost of materials and delays in delivery have caused significant price increases in the cost of raw materials, and manufacturing.
We have done our best to keep the cost of manufacture down by preordering parts and material, but supply chain problems foretell the inevitable necessity of a price increase to our customers. In the near future, the price of our Basic Model (6 ½” Barrel) will increase from $3,495 to $3,995.
The good news is that we are securing enough parts and material to offer 500 Auto Mags at our current pricing structure. We can offer this pricing for the sale of the next 500 guns or the time limit of 2 months whichever occurs first.
We just got a small batch of 6 ½ barrels in and will start producing 6 ½ inch guns again within two weeks. We are still waiting on 8 ½ inch barrels. We have a new vendor that should be able to get us the first prototypes in three weeks. There is no guarantee that the first ones will work but if so, we could be producing 8 ½ inch guns in 60 days. Even so if you ordered today the earliest you would receive your gun would be 120 days. If you are an existing customer, products will be shipped in the order of sale. We sincerely apologize for the delay in providing your product but assure you the wait will be work it!
One last note. RCBS has agreed to add back to their line .44AMP carbide reloading dies. When those come available, we will send out an email.
Once again thank you for your continued interest in Auto Mag. I hope to see many of you at the NRA Show. If you have questions, please call customer service at 843-756-0362 during normal business hours (8am – 5pm eastern) Monday – Friday.
Sincerely,
Patrick Henry
