I have been looking for loading info in loading a 44mag with the 405g WLNDCG, .432 dia.  I only need to push the bullet at 1000-1050fps out of a 9" Ruger barrel.

I have Unique and H-110 at my bench.  I understand going too light with H-110 would give me spotty performance.

Could that bullet be stuffed deeper into a mag case or stuffed into a 44SPL case to get the H-110 to perform w/o too high pressures?

I think the biggest problem would be stabilising such a heavy/long projectile.  My 96/44 has, I think, a 1:20" twist barrel and it didn't shoot the 355LFNGC at 1000f.p.s very well at all.  I believe Marshall had trouble with the 405gr in his 444 at nearly double that velocity.

I guess I will have to stick to the tried and true 44 mag rounds.  I was wondering if that big of a bullet would get enough spin.

Thanks for the replies.
