I loaded some Pile Driver Jr's recently. I fired them out of my 1895 Marlin with 2.5 power scope off sandbags at 100 yards. Three shots center to center less than one inch. The cold barrell shot was slightly outside the one hole the second and third shots made. Everyone on the range was very impressed. I made sure they knew it was Beartooth bullets making those holes.
Thanks for making a great product.

I use the Pile Driver Jr. (.460 diameter) in my 22" barreled 1895. It's my favorite and all I use right now. I use a Skinner peep sight but will be going to a low power scope in the not to distant future, eyes ain't getting any better. This is probably my last season with open sights. I chrono'd mine at about 1670 with IMR 4198 and they are accurate.

Went out shooting with a buddy a few weeks ago and he showed me one of the 30-06 rounds he was using. You should have seen his eyes when I took his cartridge and stuck it in the muzzle of my 45-70 and half the cartridge disappeared down the bore. I said "nope, not big enough". Actually, I have an '06 and it's my favorite elk round. I then let him shoot the 45-70 and a big smile came over his face. After a dozen or so rounds his shoulder was bruised to the point he couldn't shoot his '06 but he said it was worth it. I just use the hard pad that the rifle came with.

Have fun. Dave

I'm going to try, with the Pile Driver jr. .460 dia., 48 gr. H-322, Starline brass, and W/W large rifle primers. I'm hoping to get 1700-1800 fps with acceptable accuracy. I've used H-322 with the BTB 405 gr. .460 and it shot extremely well. I just wanted to step it up a bit. This is in a Marlin 1895SS 22".

Happy Trails!
