I know this has been discussed to death, But I need some info on 45-70 loads. A friend of mine just got a T/C in 45-70. He reloads, but hasn't bought the dies for this round yet. I have an extra set of dies I was gonna give him, along with a handfull of Cast bullets. I want to give him a safe load recipe for 350g, 425g btb's, and 525g btb's. What powder could I tell him to use that will work with all these weights? Not too weak, but not killers either. I've been using 4759 in my loads, but thats for a BFR. What would you guys recomend? And how many grains for each weight?
