I am looking to replace the factory grips on my 454 SRH. Might replace the ones on my 44mag SRH as well. The rubber on the factory grips is too soft and grabs at the skin between my thumb and index finger. Sometimes it wears a blister. Guess I could get a glove... I like the size and shape of the grip and they seem to keep the recoil in check but I don't like the compound they are made of. I have seen the Hogue but haven't put my hands on them. I have not seen the Pachmayr.

So, the question. What grips do you prefer and why?

I use the Hogue on both my SRH's.  Like it pretty well, although the top portion is a tad too narrow for my taste.  Have never tried the Pachmayr for the SRH.  To me the perfect DA grip is the one on the Taurus Raging Bull.  Unfortunately nobody has seen fit to produce it for other guns.
