Thanks for the info. Now if I had some starting points I would be in business. I'm shooting a Kimber coustom Target how heavy a recoil spring should I use. I don't need real heavy loads.

recoil springs

I personally have used from 13-22 lbs for 200 and 230 gr loads. The answer you are looking for is not the same for everyone. once you have chosen a load, load a bunch and go shooting with your gun. with an empty gun forcefully pull the slide back and pay attention to the thud when the slide stops on the frame. YOU DON'T WANT TO FEEL THAT WHEN YOU SHOOT. now try the different spring weights. shoot rapid fire after you have made sure there is no frame thud and watch your sights when the gun is settled from recoil are your sights above or below the target. if the sight picture is above the target then you need a heavier spring or lighter if it is below.

Duane, thanks for the reply. Tomorrow I'm going to check the wt. of my spring. Ijust need some starting loads for Unique.
