Does anyone have any experience with this round?
What are it's ballistics?
It sounds like a stretched-out .475 Maximun.
How does  it compare ot the .50 Alaskan?

Ranger, the .475 GNR is almost identical to several rounds that came out at almost the same time involving the blown out .45-70.  The most common one I can think of is the .475 JDJ made for the Contender pistol by SSK Industries.  There is a review in of this round in JDJ's literature and "Cartridges of the World" any recent volume.  In short, it is a fine round, but I think the .50 AK and the .450 AK are more powerful rounds.  Larger case volume, same length, yada, yada, yada.  While I think the .50 AK would be a slightly more powerful round, I doubt any animal would know the difference between being struck with a .45-70-500, .475-500 JDJ/GNR, or .50-500 AK.  Certainly, the .50 AK would be pushing the 500 gr. bullet faster than the .475 JDJ/GNR (loaded to the same pressures) and that would gain you a bit more "thump" and penetration.

Do you have any experience or comments about the 41 GNR? as I'm considering for my T/C pistol in something 10" to 14" -- any info greatly appreciated.
