Going to the range tomorrow and working up a load for the AR using Hornady 55gr soft points.. I have about 100 .223 brass mostly cheap PMC and about 200 5.56 all Lake city.. Which would you use for working up a load???

Kinda depends on your goal in my thinking.
If I was to "vote" for brass, I'd spend my time on the Lake City stuff.

Not sure what the goal is.. Maybe to just work up an accurate load for paper with the possibility of ridding my cousins farm of varmints... The Lake City is better brass and it just takes a second to remove the crimp on the primer pocket.. Not sure what I would be saving it for...

Brass for that chamber is everywhere. Just get a whole bunch of one lot, and be very "persnickity" about how you care for it. Trim, weigh, anneal, inside,outside, etc.

I don't load for auto/semi-loaders. Same rules still apply though! Be nice to your ammo.
