Just had a buddy discover that an old (~1937 mfg) Win M70 he got from an estate is chambered in 7mm-06 Ackley. (The barrel was marked 7mm, so presumably it started life as a 7x57 Mauser.)

Trying to gather load data and general info around this chambering. Thanks.

Yep, .280 Remington AI data is the same. The cases might not be though. Did you get dies with the rifle?

Nosler's 6th edition has current data for the 280AI.

The difference in case length is .041 thousands, the shoulder on the 280 Remington is forward of the 30/06 (7mm/06) by .051 thousands, the difference started in 1957, there was a risk some determined person would chamber a 280 (7mm/06) in in a 270, who knowswhat Ackley was thinking? He knew they should know better?
