An 879 pound black bear was killed in Monroe County, Pennsylvania, Monday 11/15/10. There was a bit of controversy (the Pocono's are full of anti hunters) because some folks had a nickname for the bear. The Game Commission declared it a legal kill. You can read the story by going to the Pocono Record website.

This evenings news from a TV station in the northeast showed what is supposed to be the same bear being hugged by a man that had been feeding it for some time. He is upset that "his" bear had been killed since it had no fear of man. Hmmm, I wonder whose fault that was???

the bear was hand fed doughnuts by a 70 year old man, who fed it on a daily basis. The bear would knock on his door for food, and the guy would come out and feed it.
he has pictures of himself hugging the bear.

and he saw nothing wrong with his actions, even though he was issued tickets for feeding wild life.

and the "hunter" who harvested it..... knew it was in the area, and knew it waa tame......

What about that Country Music Star that filmed shooting a big bear with a bow and trying to make it look like he hunted it for days when it was just a very old tame bear that he paid to shoot that was in a fenced in area. I think he caught heck for that.
