My brother Clay called to let me know he was starting to test some BTB "Heavies" in his Redhawk. The problem is He has run the rear sight all the way down and still impacting high at 25 yards. He called Ruger and they said they had only the one sight for Redhawks?<!--emo&???--><img src="http://beartoothbullets.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/confused.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt='???'><!--endemo-->??
Does anyone know a supplier for higher front sights on the Redhawk?
Best Regards, James

James,

Although I'm sure there is an aftermarket item someplace, If it is a regular dovetail setup you may be able to adapt a Marble or Williams front dovetail sight blade that is higher.

I would tend to figure one from a 45 Colt Redhawk would be higher but you say they have only one height.

Don't see anything in my Brownells catalog either.

Ray...It's a Super Redhawk. The female turkey I talked at Ruger informed me there was only one sight height available for the SRH?<!--emo&???--><img src="http://beartoothbullets.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/confused.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt='???'><!--endemo-->?<!--emo&???--><img src="http://beartoothbullets.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/confused.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt='???'><!--endemo-->?<!--emo&???--><img src="http://beartoothbullets.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/confused.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt='???'><!--endemo-->?<!--emo&???--><img src="http://beartoothbullets.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/confused.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt='???'><!--endemo-->

James,

If memory serves, Hamilton Bowen offers a higher front sights for the Super Redhawk. Might want to wander over to his web sight.

Millets front sight is a wee bit taller than the factory unit.
I haven't measured it, but I'm sure it is. --Bob

James,

I'm having Alpha Precision (Jim Stroh) put one of his front sights that has interchangable blades and a Bowen rear sight on a Ruger for me. I've had the same problem and the interchangable blades allows me significant variation for various bullet weights. His web site
"http://www.angelfire.com/ga/alphaprecision/" lists the services and prices.

Hey Call Rugers Product Service Dept. Again.  This is a fixable problem for &#367.00.  Tell them you are shooting 300 grain plus bullets and they are impacting high.  They will charge you &#367.00 to mail you the higher front sight insert.  I just got mine a couple weeks ago.  They pop in and out on teh SRH ramp.

Good Luck.
