I was given some gunpowder, among it is two sealed 1 pound containers of Winchester mag rifle powder. I opened both containers and the powder is in excellent condition.

My question is, what cartridges was this powder used in? . Thank you in advance for all of your help.

Winchester? Or WC (Western Cannon) 846?

Never knew Winchester to have a powder with that number, but the surplus WC-846 has been floating around for quite a while. Lots of suggested loads but kind of on your own for workup. I am pretty sure that several of the (rebranded) Hodgdon powders started out as different lots of WC-844 and WC-846.

My mistake. I can no longer do two things at once. The powder in question is Magnum Rifle by Winchester. Is there any way that I can change my post to show the correct powder?

WC 846 is the parent powder to what you know as Bl-c(2) or H335.
That DOES NOT MEAN it is exactly what Hodgdon blends currently.

Now that you've changed what we're talking about, simply grab an old manual or two, data is still there for WMR.

I edited your post for you, btw.

Cheers

I have a copy of the Winchester Reloder's Manual from 1997. It lists WMR for 200 and 220 grain bullet weights for the 30-06. 150 to 220 grain bullets in the 300 H&H and 300 Win Mag. 200 to 275 grain bullets in the 338 Win Mag.

This 1997 Manual also shows loads for the 6mm Rem, 243, 257 Roberts, 25/06, 270, 280, 7mm Mauser and 7mm-08 using WMR.

Thank you everyone for your help. My apologies for my 'senior moment' in listing the wrong powder.
