Greetings. I am a long time metallic reloader but just started loading shotshells. The bulk of my loading will be for casual clay shooting and dove hunting. I inherited my uncles shotshell loading collection. I am slowly going through things and learning this new skill. My question has to do with Activ brand blue colored wads(I'm at work, so no model #). I have 8-10 bags of new wads but no Activ hulls to go with them. Can these wads be used in other hulls? I have tons of AA, Gun Club, Gold Medal and Rio hulls to choose from. I cannot find any data to show Activ wads being used in other hulls...

Active hulls were completely different than all the other ones you mentioned. Short answer is, NO, don’t try it. You’ll end up with nothing but trouble trying to get a good crimp, and you have no idea what you’ll be getting for pressure. Just get some new wads (Claybusters are really affordable and will fit in any of the hulls you mentioned).
Put them on one of the auction sites, perhaps someone else is looking for them.
Yes, it would be a shame to just toss them but when the wad volume / height doesn't match up, at a minimum it makes a real mess when the crimps don't stay closed.....
If you can find data for them, no big deal. Sectioning an Active hull and figuring out what it's close to, in terms of volume and internal shape, might be a clue as to what else they would work with. But sort of on your own absent published data.

There are probably people looking for them. Unless you have the hulls, I don't think you will find data for them.
You might get a pretty penny depending on what you have.
Argentina stiill uses a ton of Active shells so maybe somebody came back eith hulls. I loaded a few back in the day, but never caught on with it.

The blue Activ wads were designated the T-35 and were used to hold 1-1/4 and 1-3/8 oz shot. They can be used in straight-walled hulls as a substitute for Winchester WAA12F114 and the Federal 12S4, both of which are no longer made though clones may be available. They work well in the 2-3/4" Federal one-piece hunting hull.
