To the member previously posting a link on this topic - I went to delete the link in your post as you hadn't included a description of the link as we request so that others may decide if they care to click it on to read. In the process, I managed to delete your entire post.

Please repost if desired, but this time you need to include a short description of the link's content. Thank you.

The English language employs only 26 letters. Eventually we ran out of abbreviations and initials and started recycling them. They are repeated in reference to multiple things in multiple contexts. Is the NRA the National Rifle Association or the National Reclamation Act? Well, it's both. Lots of stuff built on reclaimed land at taxpayer's expense in the first half of the last century has "NRA" proudly displayed on a plaque or molded into the concrete, but that doesn't mean shooters, in particular, had anything to do with it beyond paying taxes.

If you read through the article, you quickly discover its "ALOX", in the context of the article, is an enzyme that acts in the colon to break down arachidonic acid, which is a polyunsaturated omega 6 essential fatty acid found in muscle cells. Your body makes this enzyme for itself, so you can't prevent exposure to it. If you don't want to be exposed to the carcinogens that result from its action on arachidonic acid in the digestive process, you have to stop eating meat. Not a likely thing for most members of this board.

I'll do what Al suggested to amend the title. I don't want to remove it in case this rumor has legs elsewhere and someone needs to find the correction. I also think this false alarm has run its course, so I'll close the thread, too.
