ID,

A couple of years ago I bought a 700 with a laminated stock and 26" bull barrel.  I read a lot on snipers and their history.  I read someplace recently that the military has gone to Reloader 15 with its M113? round(7.62 Nato).  Says it gives best performance over a wide range of conditions and temperatures.

In my 308 I use 45 gr. of IMR 4064 with a 150 gr. Nosler Ballistic Tip for a .311 inch group at 100 yds. and 2" group at 300 yds.  The 168 gr. Sierra BTHP Match behind 44 gr. of IMR 4064 gives about the same results with a pt. of impact.  The police and sheriff's snipers around here use Federal 168 gr. HPBT Match ammo which is just about a duplicate load of what I use with the 168 gr.
