Annealing Brass was the first task I was ever given in reloading back in the mid-late 60's. My Dad formed most everything from Military 06 brass. He used the flame temp till orange and tip over method. I know my Mom wasn't happy with using one of her shallow roasting pans for it, but better than chemical cleaning processes in her ovens.
I have a couple of propane torches. I whirl the neck in my hand until it's too hot to hold (orange) and drop it into a gallon of water. No need to spend $500 on some fancy rig. Sorry.
