AJ;
First off, let me say that Alk8944 is absolutely correct. My experiences with a particular round, especially one that is not recommended by the manufacturer for use in your gun, should in no way be interpreted as encouraging you to go against their recommendations and use it. It would be a mistake. My personal choice, one taken out of ignorance, was placing my safety at risk and you should not do the same. I apologize for the poor advise.
Alk8944;
I had heard rumors and knew that Blazer had changed the coating on their cases years ago due to some problems and I ASSUMED that their actions with the coating had been the source of any problems, but never bothered to check. I spoke to Speer a little while ago and one of their techs informed me that they DO NOT recommend the use of Blazer ammo in lever actions due to the less than tight lock-up of some lever-action bolts and the possibility of case head separation in some older, especially loose guns. I appreciate your comments and I am grateful for your posting and knowledge. Hopefully someone else can benefit from my mistake and your knowledge. As I tell my kids, you are never too old to learn. Again muchas gracias.
