I know a few guys who are taking a 240 Weatherby case and simply necking it down to 22 caliber. They are getting speeds of 3800 to over 4000 depending on bullet weight. I believe they are shooting between 60 and 80 grain bullets. There is no fire forming the case, just a simple neck down job. I know it will be a barrel burner, my gunsmith who has built them says between 800 to 1000 rounds and it will be time for a new barrel. I have seen where Redding makes a die for the round. Does anyone have any experience with this round. Any info. would be appreciated.
