Question for the forum:

I'm not a true officianado of the Colt SAA and so am not sure exactly what to look for as regards fit, finish, authenticity.

I have been looking at the AWA Peacekeeper and USFA SAA which to my eye both seem to be very nice reproductions of the Colt design and am trying to sort out the differences. The AWA seems to be priced better but I'm wondering if the USFA is different in some way to justify the price difference. Also - anyone have any info on the relative cylinder throat and bore diameters? I DO want one to shoot!

Thanks-

Hello Sky C.
I can't address the technical issues such as cylinder throat, bore diameter, etc. but I can tell you that the AWA Peacekeeper and Longhorn are both VERY popular in "Cowboy shooting" circles, and they are near exact replicas of the Colt single action revolver. I also have heard that they are accurate and very smooth right out of the box. So, for the money it may be something to consider.

Timberwolf ;)
