I have a .357 mag. rossi 92 that strings shots vertically with some loads. Does the tightness of the barrel band that fixes the foreend to the magazine/barrel have any part in this, or, for that matter, the barrel/magazine band that is near the muzzle? thanks in advance.

My Marlin 1894C had the same problem. I loosened up the barrel band by removing wood from the forearm and opening up the screw hole in the band. The forearm can now move slightly, and the vertical stringing ceased.

Had similar problem with 336 Marlin 30-30. Wasn't stringing but was zeroed at 25 yds. Shot 6 inches high at 100. I loosened the band bolts and just snuged them. Now 150''s and 170's are on the money. There is a book somewhere on accurizing lever guns. I haven't found it yet. If I do I will post title and author...Elliot
