Does anyone know anything about the Beretta Matos?  I heard that they were dropping the line to push Sako/Tikkas, which Beretta acquired.

They seem to be clearing them out (v. good prices).  I've been told that they are Dakota barrelled actions with Italian wood, assembled in Maryland.

Regards,

Charlie

Charlie,
I too heard the Mato's were the Dakota Hunter action.  While not quite the Model 76, it is still a dandy.  The only ones I've seen have been pretty expensive and a little out of my league.  I hope they don't drop them, but sure do wish they were a little more affordable.  I don't have one or have shot one, but I know exactly one person that has one and he loves his.  He likes it more than his pre '64 Model 70.

to charliez... I bought a Dakota hunter barrelled action in 330 dak w/ a ss 24" no.3 barrel from  dak arms a couple years ago... stocked it with a Brown Precision stock. It's accurate, well made...a nice rifle. The Mato is the same action.  Happy trails.
